‘Our world leaders have failed us’ – Inspirational 15-year-old schools leaders on climate change

Not all heroes wear capes. Greta Thunberg, a 15-year-old student from Sweden, is taking action against climate change.

Disturbed by the prospect of her stolen future and consistent inaction by world leaders, she started a ‘School strike for climate’, inspiring a climate movement across the globe and has delivered many damning speeches to stunned world leaders at the UN.

For 25 years countless people have come to the UN climate conferences begging our world leaders to stop emissions and clearly that has not worked as emissions are continuing to rise.

I will not beg the world leaders to care for our future.

I will instead let them know change is coming whether they like it or not.

One of her epic speeches can be seen below, and is well worth a watch:

Greta’s speech comes after the IPCC’s latest report (or rather – dire warning) that we need to curb CO2 emissions as a matter of urgency if we want to cap global warming at 2°C or under. It’s now or never in the fight against climate change.
